3D Desktop Environment
In order to understand what is being talked about, it will be beneficial to note the image attached to this. I've been toying with some fun software. I didn't find exactly what I was looking for, but attached is a screenshot of my desktop. You can't see it, but my mouse is hovering over the weather icon, hence the enlargement. Also, before you think anything about how cluttered my desktop is, I've been in the middle of a few projects as of late, and I have a bad habit of storing any files in the projects to my desktop temporarily (until a week or two after I finish it). From what I've seen, this is just about as good as it gets when it comes to free 3D Desktop Environment software (for Windows, anyways). It's called Real Desktop. Of course, when Sun's Project Looking Glass finalizes, it will be much better. Really, it already is better, but not entirely user friendly (which really means I had slight trouble navigating my way around setting it up to share my system files). The dock at the top is pretty well known, and anyone who has ever looked into docks for Windows, even casually, should know about it -- ObjectDock. I have it set to hide whenever my mouse isn't on it. I need to reset the icon for E-Sword, though. It's blurry at that high a resolution. I'm looking for a good 3D Window Manager that's compatible with Windows XP, and, even more importantly, free. Haven't found one yet that seems like it's a good idea to try out, but oh well.
